VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

June 11 – 15, 2012

6pm – 8:30pm

Our children’s choir program provides excellent musical and spiritual teaching from preschoolers through fifth grade. Music is also a vital part of AWANA, Sunday morning worship and Children’s Sunday School. It is also a key element to our annual Vacation Bible School in June. Give you children the gift of music and help them to know the ONE who is truly worth singing about!

Childcare is provided for these worship services.
The Lord’s Supper is shared with all who attend and confess Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

The services begin promptly at 7.00 and last for approximately one and a half hours.

Peter’s Vision and Response. Acts 10

April 5 & 6, Hallelujah, Praise the Lamb, An Easter Celebration at 7:00pm.  We will be observing the Lord’s Supper as part of each of these worship services.

EASTER SUNDAY

Our normal 9:00 and 10:30 Worship/Bible Study as scheduled.  We would like to enjoy some extra food and fellowship that day.  Please bring your favorite breakfast/brunch homemade finger food to share with all.  Food will be placed outside in the coffee area with extra table set up for convenience.  Please invite guests to join you for resurrection Sunday.  There will be no evening service.

MEN’S MINISTRY 

Car Care Day, Saturday March 10th 7:30 – 10am. Widows. Single Moms. The men of the church will do basic maintenance on your car: oil change, fluid levels, etc.  Please email the church office at office@kingsbaptist.org details on your car and what is needed so that we know what part to purchase for your car.  You can make a donation or the service is free for those who need it.

YOU CAN HELP ALASKAN CHILDREN without GOING TO ALASKA

We are starting to make Christmas bags to be filled with toys for the kids in Svaoonga, Alaska.  First, we need to cut the fabric, a lot of fabric.  Join us on March 23 at 10am in room 121.  You don’t need any sewing skills and you can be any age.  If you are able, please bring a pair of scissors or cutting boards.  OR if you have fabric you would like to donate, please see Beverly Stokes, Jan Madigan or Ann Blaisdell.  Or you can bring it by the church office.

Our theme is gambling.  What would you gamble for your own life/soul?  Would you try Russian roulette for $10 million?? Would you bet that there really is no Hell so you are not going to concern yourself with salvation?  These are the questions we will pose to Fair patrons who visit our booth.  If you want to join this strategic ministry please fill out the form below.

CHRISTMAS GIFT BAGS 2011 For the children that attend Hogarth Kingeekuk Memorial School on St. Lawrence Island in the city of Savoonga, Alaska.

Savoonga Facts: It is in the Nome census area.  According to the census of 2000, there are 643 people in Savoonga.  Savoonga shares the island with the city or town of Gambell, and calls itself the  ”Walrus Capital of the World”.

The assistant principal Sandi Hooper reported that the bags arrived in good condition and the children were delighted with the contents.  The additional crocheted and knitted hats and scarves are kept in the office of the school and given to children as needs arise.   Sandi says that they are all very grateful for our efforts on their behalf.

CHRISTMAS BAGS DECEMBER 2012

King’s Baptist will again be sending gift bags to Savoonga so it isn’t too early to begin shopping!  We will have a day of cutting out the bags on March 23rd at 10:00am in Room 121.  All are welcome to join in the fun! There will be further announcements in the coming days on this project.  Please speak with Beverly Stokes, Jan Madigan or Ann Blaisdell

BUILD A CHURCH IN CUBA CAMPAIGN  

A love offering of $3,150.00 was delivered to Pastor Adrian on February 14th in Hialeah, FL.   An email was received from Pastor Adrian on February 20th stating that he and all his luggage and belongings, had safely arrived in Cuba, and to his home in Caibarien with no losses.    All Praise and Thanksgiving to God!

Additional offerings that were given to the campaign after the initial transfer, will be brought to Pastor Adrian and Pastor Orlando with the next group going to Cuba in May.   The Mission Committee would like to thank all who gave so generously and cheerfully so that the family of believers of 5th Baptist Church of Santa Clara, Cuba might worship and fellowship together in one structure.

CUBA PROJECT MAY 2012  A team of ten has begun meeting and making plans for the May 17th to May 24th construction project  at the  Baptist Church of Dolores.  The team will be lodged in Caibarien and transported daily to the work area in Dolores. The team members are Ray Devane, Brian Hayes, Juelie Perry, Wick Norwood, Bip DiPietro, Linda Holland, Rick Holland, Phillip Miller, Jim Schorner and Judy Schorner.

NEW OUTREACH PROJECT OPPORTUNITY-   This project comes to us as a result of a relationship we have had since our Nome , Alaska Iditarod Project of 2007 with Pastor Bruce Landry in Nome.   He serves the area of Norton Sound and the Northwest Arctic.

Pastor Bruce wrote ” Dorcas Bloom (whom our team met) a member of our church and traveler throughout Norton Sound and the Northwest Arctic, has need of twin blankets and sheets .  The blankets and sheets are used to line the plywood coffins when people in our villages die.    They are an immense blessing to the grieving families. ”

As you may know, the suicide rate is very high in the Native American community in Alaska.   We are going to collect sheets and blankets used and new in the next month for mailing to Nome around April 1st.   Please see Ann Blaisdell for details.  We have already collected a few sheets .  Thrift and consignment shops may be good places to find these items.

This Friday, February 24^th starting at 6:30pm we will host a video of David Platt speaking.  David is best known for writing the book “Radical”.

You do not need to sign up, just show up.  We will meet in the Worship Center of our church but our time will be spent hearing the tremendous teaching from God’s Word.  We will sing in worship and we will pray for our brothers and sisters around the world.  This time is unusual because we will be here till about 11:00pm.  We want to model the commitment that persecuted brothers and sisters around the globe have when they meet together for long hours at a time.   We will have a detailed manual for you to follow while David teaches.  There is no childcare because of the time involved.

The following is a description of Secret Church:

“When we think of “church” in America, we think of going to meet at a building, singing, praying and hearing a message from a Pastor or teacher. But in many places around the world, “church” meets in a home, an apartment, even in secret. These small groups of Christ-followers often meet for many hours in study, prayer and fellowship, as it is dangerous to travel to “church” and they want to make the most of their time together.  Secret Church is our “house church,” where we meet periodically for an intense time of Bible study–lasting 4-6 hours–and prayer for our persecuted brothers and sisters across the globe.”

Bottom line, if you want more of God, you want “deep teaching” and you want to be challenged in your faith the “Secret Church” is for you.
